Learn to Become Your Own Tailor

Description: Margaret Burton received her BFA in fashion design from Pratt Institute, and is now living and creating in Los Angeles. Her hope is to educate the public on the negative toll that the fashion industry has over makers, consumers, and our planet. In her own work Margaret deconstructs found and donated clothing and makes them into new garments. When stitched together they form a new story. Class Structure:
You will bring in garments from your own closet that needs hemmed, taken in or new buttons sewn on. Students will learn useful techniques to help advance their wardrobe. Sewing machine use with be taught for beginners. If students have their own machines please bring them with you. Scissors, pins, and thread will be provided. Click here to sign up.
